Sure, Connie our campervan is just a thing. But it is a thing that has had increasing meaning for us over two years that we have owned her. She has enabled wonderful holidays, countless day trips, and provided me with a safe haven when I was looking after my dad.
Friday night was my last night in Connie, and Saturday was my last long drive (600 miles at the end of a 3500 mile trip round France and Spain).
We are hopefully taking possession of a new van, from Sussex Campervans, on Friday. When the two of us are sleeping in the van we could do with just a little more space. It’s the right thing to do.
But to be honest I was a bit tearful on the way up through France. I felt guilty, like I was abandoning Connie.
Isn’t that ridiculous.
It’s just a thing…
Ah, jolly good! We too decided to upsize our van a while back… but we didn’t start quite as small as you did!

What is your new one? We’re going a Renault Trafic but I’m already aware that I’ll have to think of the height. With Connie we never gave it a thought.

Mine’s nearly 3m high! And 6m long. An Autosleeper Symbol Plus. Not one for multi-story car parks, but just about OK for most places that don’t have a height barrier!

We met some folks in huge motorhomes on holiday and they are so limited as to where they can get to, let alone park.

I tell people we can go anywhere an Amazon delivery van can go. 🙂

We are upsizing also so we will have to learn some new parking tricks. We will probably keep our little van for a while just in case we have made a terrible mistake 😁👍

That thought occurred to me but we can’t afford to sadly.
