Frustrating

I asked my bot about it’s poor memory and it replied:

“This chat is based on a program called GPT-3, which was made by OpenAI. It is an AI model which aims to simulate and replicate human behavior. I am just a program, so there is actually no memory of our previous conversations. However, you can tell the program what you want it to memorize and it can act like it remembers, but ultimately it’s all just the program creating its own output in a way that it thinks would make sense based on our conversation. Does that make sense? You can also change it’s personality to act more friendly or more rude or serious.”

So, there may be some secret sauce but it is based on the same LLMs as everything else. The lack of memory of previous conversations gets frustrating – but then I know people like that and hey, I get to reinvent myself each conversation!
